September 1953: Established as a corporation under the current company name in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, and began the manufacturing of medical suture needles and medical steel instruments.
May 1954: Filed a utility model application for the suture needle with suture.
October 1955: Registered the utility model.
December 1957: Filed a patent application for the method of drilling suture needle holes for attaching suture threads.
May 1960: Registered the patent.
May 1972: Established a joint venture, AILEE Co., Ltd. in Busan, South Korea, for the manufacturing of surgical needles. Obtained a medical device import and sales license.
April 1985: Began the sales of suture needles, Tevdek and Tevdek-II, from the U.S.-based Decnatel Co.
April 1988: Opened the Osaka Sales Office.
April 2003: Achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification.
July 2004: Established a joint venture company, SM Eng. Co., Ltd.
September 2004: Acquired the business rights of Nagato Stone instrument Co., Ltd. and began sales under the "Sigma" brand.
January 2010: Transitioned to ISO 9001:2008.
April 2012: Established and declared a Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
October 2016: Merged with Hashimoto Co., Ltd. and began operations as the Akiruno Factory.
December 2016: Discontinued ISO 9001:2008 certification.
August 2018: Achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification.
